There is a massive increase in consumers wanting to shop from sustainable brands. Consumers are opening their eyes to the impact their shopping is having on the environment and they are more likely to shop from brands that share their values. A whopping 77% of consumers are concerned about the environmental impact of the products they buy. That’s a huge shift from the fast fashion, “I want it now” trends we have been seeing in the last decade. So what can you do?
Tips for Sustainability in Ecommerce
- Adopt carbon nuetral shipping: Consumers are more willing to accept slower shipping times for lower environmental impact.

- Sell sustainable products: Ditch the fast-fashion, sell and/or create products that aren’t effecting the enivornment negatively.

- Grow a community on social media: Engage with your followers, make them feel like they are part of your brand. Brand loyalty is huge.
- Live chat: Take your customer service to live chat. 54% of shoppers say that being able to easily reach customer service in the channel of their choice is important to them.
- Offer personalization on your website: Creating a product recommendation quiz for new shoppers when they visit your website is a great way to offer that personalization touch that they would get shopping in store.
- Sell everywhere your customers are: Expand your sales channels to where your customers are with social media platforms.
- Collaborate with influencers and creators: Find influencers with 5000-6000 engaged followers and offer to send them something.
- Create a rewards program: Keep your customers coming back with a rewards program. Offer chances to earn extra points for tasks like following your brand on social media, leaving a review, or sharing with a friend.
